Last night, Sadie came over to dye my hair blue, in a kind of post-breakup cope. Whenever something like a breakup happens I dye my hair or get another tattoo or piercing. It acts as a reset.

My fingernails are now blue and I have another activity added to my growing list of things I want to accomplish. Here’s a list of the things I want to accomplish over the summer:

Sarah’s List of Things To Do ☆.。.:*
1. Freelance for Teresa
2. Work as an Orientation Leader at ArtCenter
3. Finish Packaging Design Final
4. Finish 1895 Zine
5. Learn to Face Paint
6. Job Hunt
7. Help Sadie with Social Media and Get Free Tattoos in Return
8. Start a Mutual Aid Fund at ArtCenter
9. Organize a Cheese Club Meeting
10. Lose Weight

Helping Sadie with social media is the new item on the docket. She said that if I helped her make reels and posts, she would give me a free tattoo. She said she would give me a free tattoo regardless, but I really wanted to give her some kind of trade.

I have no idea how I’m going to accomplish everything I want to do over the summer. Clearly, I need some sort of schedule or checklist.

  • For freelancing, I generally try to be on call from 9am to 5pm. I should probably wake up earlier if I want to exercise in order to lose weight. Ideally I would wake up at 7am every morning, have 2 hours to get ready and exercise.
  • Then work for 5 hours or so while being on call the entire day. That gives me 2 or so hours to do whatever else. Usually I “waste” this time by watching anime, but I should probably do something somewhat productive. Perhaps fold laundry, but I should come up with a backup thing in case I have no household chores that day. Probably job searching.
  • Then I can take an hour off around lunch and dinner to help my family cook.
  • After dinner, I usually lie in bed and scroll through social media, but I really want to train myself to work on something until midnight. I suppose I should work on finishing my packaging final and face painting.

I tend to have a hard time sticking to schedules, because I feel like my brain needs large amounts of time to rest, but I think I just need to train my brain to see hobbies and fun tasks as a rest. Certainly its more restful than straining my eyes by watching endless tik toks. Before I had a phone, I used to read and draw to relax. Surely I could learn to facepaint as a relaxing hobby.

I really like accomplishing things, but it’s hard for a girl to do it all. I suppose there’s no time like summer to work on difficult things. I need some damn coffee.
