When making collateral for A Noise Within, I already had a few brand guidelines, such as the logo and typeface used. However, within that framework I was challenged to make unique content for each season, show, and event that A Noise Within put on. And wow, they put on so many shows. Shakespeare plays, Greek tragedies, August Wilson productions, and a rendition of a musical version of Animal Farm? The Animal Farm Musical had a tap-dancing crow and everything. And as a theater employee, I got to see the tap dancing crow for FREE 99; what a time to be alive. The repertory theater had an intimate stage setup and the founders of the theater often had personal relationships with their actors, donors, and patrons. I told the story of this closeness by creating warm and maximalist graphics that showcased the human aspect of the theater. I also used mad gradients, for drama.
